This custom engraved trophy style belt buckle for Jan's husband, David, depicts their two English Setters, Lucy and Agatha. The whole design is done in intaglio engraving, which is typically used for printing.

The buckle is assembled (the bail and the prong on the back) using screws instead of solder. Neil likes the "directness" of screws rather than solder - it's obvious how it's assembled. It's also appropriate for someone who takes his inspiration from gun engraving to emulate other aspects of their craftsmanship. The screw-ends come through in pairs on the front of the buckle; to the left of Lucy, and above and below Agatha.
