Neil is exploring new territory again. He made this Baja buckle set, for Jim, to be reminiscent of engraved shotguns. The buckle has two raised sections of checkered silver, to protect the overlaid 18K gold Mallards and the inlaid 24K gold grass. He repeated the checkering on the tip, where the raised silver section is attached with a tiny screw that goes all the way through the leather into a silver plate on the back. This effectively secures the tip in place, and is, again, reminiscent of shotguns. All four pieces have 24K gold line-inlay.
