This delightful 4-piece Mesabi buckle set with gold pheasants is the first finished set inspired by our spring -03 road-trip to the South-Western US. Driving across the expansive Northern plains, Pheasants were plentiful along the roadsides. They are such beautiful birds, and it is indeed a great thing that their numbers have been on the increase again.

The Pheasant towards the back is 24K Gold. It is inlaid into a space carved into the surface of the silver, and then engraved. A section of it's back is raised, giving it a sculpted look. The Pheasant in the foreground is 14K Gold overlay on the surface of the silver buckle. It is deeply engraved and sculpted, as well. The background, including the smaller pheasant, is "bead-blasted" or satined, which gives the scene a misty feeling. There is a subtle suggestion of grass below the larger Pheasant. The design on the tip is made to be reminiscent of the tail-feathers. All four pieces of the buckle set have 24K Gold line-inlay.
