Rodney wanted an all silver belt buckle set with a fly fishing theme. He had seen the variety of Neil's fly fishing designs from 2004, and was 'hooked'...

This Mojave buckle set has a fun, turbulent composition, between the fisherman, his line, and the scrollwork. The fisherman and the fish are carved in low-relief, and they are framed by the checkering on the keepers and the tip. On the buckle everything is framed the checkering on the edges, which pulls the scrollwork more into the river itself. The 'sun on water' rippling effect is created by a few quick bright cuts after the pieces are oxidized.
