Mojave Belt Buckle Set with Gold, "Wolf"

This wolf engraving is done on a Mojave buckle set. The engraving was inspired by an experience Neil had following a blizzard in Northern Wisconsin. He was sketching under a canopy of snow-covered branches in a cedar swamp, when a wolf appeared out of no-where. As they stared silently at each other for what seemed like an eternity, Neil was struck by the gentleness in her eyes. I think he was able to capture this feeling in the engraving.

The gold around the wolf, as well as the wolf itself, are inlaid flush into the buckle. This is a very exacting and laborious process. Neil really enjoyed making this one!
