Neil engraved this beautiful pendant for his mom, Jeanne's 80th birthday the spring of -08. It depicts a Phalaenopsis Orchid with eight blossoms. Neil's father, Norm, was very fond of orchids. He and Jeanne had eight children together, hence the eight orchid blossoms.

The scrollwork's leafy base helps to ground the plant by utilizing larger, heavier, and darker scrolls at the bottom, and then lightening them higher up, finally dissipating into simple calligraphic lines at the top. The pendant is slightly domed and hangs on the chain in an unusual manner - through the two holes on the sides.
