This Sonora buckle set looks somewhat different from Neil's other engravings because of the oxidizing (darkening or antiquing) process. Neil has wanted to do buckles in a gun-metal finish for some time. This set also has very interesting and complex scrolls, especially on the buckle. There is a continuous entanglement of vines slightly reminiscent of old Celtic or old Norse carvings. The keepers each have a flower in the middle, and the dynamic interplay between the area with scrolls and the area with only leaves on the tip, is another point of interest. This Sonora set has a Baja tip.
