Engraved silver Tabula Rasa buckle w/gold 'Trout' '1.dec04'

This engraved Tabula Rasa Channel Buckle with a gold trout was a custom order for Verne. The outer gold border is "hidden" by the scrollwork foreground in places, giving it a very 3-dimensional look. The trout in this piece is an example a new approach Neil has used lately. He has been using more modeling and low relief in the gold, utilizing natural shadow and highlight to achieve 3-dimensionality, instead of antiquing (darkening) engraved lines in the gold to achieve the appearance of three dimensions.
